Hello,

        When I first got my laptop, the internet connection worked very well. Now, if I can manage to undisable the network card, clicking on the Internet symbol on the Taskbar gives me nothing, and when I restart it and am able to open up the panel for a few seconds, it shows that I am connected with a limited connection to my internet, and when I hover over it's symbol in the taskbar it says, "Unidentified network, No Internet access." Restarting my computer doesn't work, and it's gotten pretty annoying, because Steam is in that limbo that it forgot my credentials, so I'm locked out of all my games, so I kind of want my internet connection back as soon as possible. I have the VN7-571G-50VG if that helps anything.

My Uncle bought an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-792U. He sent it to me in the Philippines. It is brand new, I got it from March. Windows 10 was installed and was updating like normal. I used it for about only 2 months before like a few days ago where it turned off by itself and now it won't turn on. I started up the laptop, everything was normal and I opened up Google Chrome. I was browsing Facebook and it turned off by itself, there's no lights on the side even if it was plugged in. I tried disconnecting and connecting the battery, holding the power button, holding the battery reset button, holding them both, and it does nothing. Anyone has a solution for this? Sometime this month, we will be going to the US amd my uncle will probably have to replace or fix it since he still has warranty. Thanks!

I bought this SSD for my VN7-791G https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B016DR1MBE/

But it does not show up in BIOS.

 

Could you tell me if I bought the right one ?

Laptop was working normally and yesterday I can't turn it On anymore, when I press power button I just get blue led on Power On status Led for 2 seconds it turns Off no fan spinning or any picture. Battery seems to be charging when it's in laptop. I tried to pull out the battery and press power button for minute and try after that but nothing. I disassembled the laptop and check the memory and everything else laptop is perfectly clean inside and outside. Can someone suggest me what to do is motherboard dead ?

Ok so I regularly play video games and work on this laptop but for a while when ever I hold the w key and release it the key would still act as if it is being pushed down and would not stop holding itself down. This also happens when I switch tabs and when that happens the w key becomes unresponsive for a while then it is able to be used a couple seconds/minute later. I am not having luck with cleaning the keyboard since there is no space at all to stick a spray in to remove dust or a way I know of to remove the covers of the keyboard but all my other keys are good.

I was using my Aspire V15 as I usually do earlier today. It all started as it became a little slow. Shortly after, apps started to freeze and crash displaying the "Not Responding" error. Shortly after, the whole system froze and reboot. When I turned it on again, it was ok nut I ran Disk Cleanup, Disk Error check, and Disk Defragment (which displayed 14% fragmented. I ran disk defragment and around pass three, the laptop reboot again. Right now it says Checking Disk for Errors and it's stuck at 57% and has been like that for two hours now. When it does boot up it instantly reboots. I can't even do a clean install since I have important files and photos that I have no backup of. Someone plz help ; (

Long Story Short : By laptop started to become all sluggish and strange. It freezes on random apps, especially ones that have a custom layout. It crashes when attempting to uninstall a few programs, Microsoft Office being one of them, (keep in mind that I have both 2013 and 2016 installed). I can't reset or refresh, and the first few bootups when I was noticing these issues was the fact that it was running disk error checker. I can't open task manager.

Occasionally, the taskbar and start button won't respond and crash explorer. Started happening when I was running a VMware virtual machine but I uninstalled it and its files. Someone plz help.

 

P.S. I can't clean install since I have important files that have no backup of. I need someone to help me

Basically, whenever I try to run any sort of game on my laptop, it works for about 30 seconds, and then the game crashes. A lot of other people told me that it was a problem with my drivers, but I have gone through all of the steps, and I believe my drivers are completely updated. Does anyone have any idea what this is and what I can do to get it to stop? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Acer aspire v5 122p with A4 1250.
I like the design, the keyboard and the screen. Battery it is ok for a 350€ notebook.
Acer v5 122p can´t play youtube videos in 720 or 1080p, without lag and stops. Is a terrible experience when using chrome to play youtube videos. But if i play the sames videos on the Microsoft Edge it flays 1080p very flowless. I can´t figure why chrome browser gets 100% of the cpu when i play youtube videos.Its annoying.

I have just purchased a Aspire V15 -574T, I have transferred my itunes account and had it verified etc. My problem is my Itunes films will not play. DVD'S play OK no problem with music. All I get is the Itunes controls and a blank screen with the odd stuttering bit of film. They play OK on my old Dell they were originally downloaded too. The films are not HD as my old laptop did not play full HD is this the Problem?

I've been struggling with my laptop for about 5 hours now.

It was working fine with Windows 8 and I wanted to reinstall the laptop to Windows 7 due to virus.

But pressing F2 didn't get me access to Bios. I noticed that some Acer Aspire V5's can't access Bios as it's hidden/locked so I was surfing webs to find solution and I stumbled upon this http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/No-access-to-BIOS-Aspire-V5-571G/td-p/157643/page/5

"The Accepted Solution #1" says download the unpacked bios image then run it through the command prompt. Which I did and F2 did get me to Bios but I faced a really big problem. It's asking for Bios password.. I have never setup Bios password to begin with..

 

I can't get past this screen. I have tried disassembling the motherboard to pull out cmos battery for 5 minutes and didn't work(I broke my screen doing this). I also tried shorting the password gap(G2201) and this didn't work neither..

When I try to load OS normally it says "Operation System not found"

I'm stuck and I have no idea what to do.. I'd appreciate help!!

I HAVE A ACER ASPIRE LAPTOP 7551-3068,  FIRST IT WOULDNT POWER UP SO i CHANGED THE EXTERNAL BATTERY AND THE POWER SUPPLY CORD. NOW IT POWERS UP BUT IT BLINKS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WINDOWS STATUP AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO BOOT UP. ON SEVERAL SITES IT SAYS TO CHANGE THE CMOS BATTERY, WHERE IS THIS LOCATED?

Hello there,

 

I have a problem with my HDMI sound, or better yet, my lack of sound. I have recently updated to Windows 10 and since the update I have been unable to watch anything through my HDMI cable because there is no sound. 

 

I have the Aspire V5-561PG model which has a Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6GHz and AMD Radeon R7 M265. 

 

When I go into my playback settings in my sound I only see my Realtek High Definition Audio speakers, no HDMI output.

 

Would love it if someone knows of a solution,

I upgraded to windows ten, the microsoft people tell me I need a product key, which acer doesn't supply, and its 40$ for a new one. I am out of warrenty so it's atleast a hundred dollars through the acer service. I just want to be able to go back or do something to fix this I am so lost right now. I can't even run CMD in admin mode so I am more than lost to say the least

I have seen conflicting descriptions on different shopping sites. The description on Acer Website (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G7CAA.001) indicates 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB 3.0 port for a total of 4(!) USB ports. The math does not add up (literally) because there is no mention to the type C por that other sites describe as USB 3.1 Thunderbolt 3 port. Thus anyone can confirm that this a Thunderbolt 3 port? On a related issue: anyone tryed running a eGPU on it?

I am trying to Turn On the TPM, so I can use Bit Locker on and when I go to TPM MaNAGEMENT and click on the link, I got this message:

 

Compatible TPM cannot be found on this computer. Make sure this computer has a 1.2 TPM or later and it's turn on.

 

I called tech support and there answer was: "Go to Best Buy and find out if the hardware is installed"

 

Any other way to find out?

Wifi becomes fast and reliable whne the memory stick is unplugged. Consistently reproducible. Does not happen when the memory stick is plugged into the left side USB ports. Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

 

Qualcom Atheros QCA61x4 wireless network adapter with driver version 12.0.0.230 dated 2016-03-21.

Hi,

 

I bought the Acer (see topic) few months ago, and now decided to get an internal DVD-drive to this laptop. I know how to take the dummy/fake drive out, but I noticed that the shape of the cover is unusual, so I cannot buy a DVD drive just from some IT-shop, as far as I understand. It would leave a significant opening to the bottom cover of the laptop. The cover cannot be moved from the fake one, it is permanent part of the plastic assembly.

 

Where can I buy a DVD drive to my Acer? Is Acer the only one who can provide this, and if it is, how to get the part? Online shop doesn't have it.

 

Please provide the exact information for the customer in Finland. I noticed that the website of Acer takes me quite quickly to the website of Acer Sweden, in Swedish. Not happy, but maybe I'll manage it from there if I know exactly how to proceed. If there is no service for Acer customer in Finland of course.

 

If this shaped drive can be bought elsewhere, I would appreciate that kind of unofficial info as well.

My Aspire V5 turned itself off. When powering up again a message briefly appears saying there was a problem and then that it is preparing auto repair. The screen goes blue and that is all that happens. . It seems to be stuck in a loop. Help!
