My laptop's battery stopped working - is sitting at 0% "plugged in, not charging". I know the battery may be dead but trying to do everything I can. One of the suggestions I found out there is to upadate the bios, and there is a newer version on the site that I have downloaded.
Problem is it will not let me do this as it says I have to charge to at least 30% first! Laptop functions fine with the power adapter plugged in. Any way around this so I can get the bios updated?
I have just reset my acer aspire v5-132 to factory settings the other day. However, I noticed that the touchpad gestures are not working anymore (like pinch zoom, and 2-finger scrolling, etc). I saw some related answers here like checking the mouse setting. But it just showed Ps2 Mouse, not the elan or synaptics that I've read in some featured answers. What do I do? And if I need to install some drivers, what are those? Any help will be truly appreciated. Thanks!
Last week my laptop was almost empty , I received a 10% message within windows and I put in the charger.
I worked another hour and then shut down the laptop and let it on the charger the rest of the night to make sure it was full next morning.
The next morning when I tried to turn on the laptop I noticed the following.
- Laptop makes no sound, no fan or (ssd hdd). Only the left led was blue, no hdd led lighting up.
- Laptop goes on, screen stays black, and after ~ 7/8 seconds the laptop goes off.
In the past I had issues when the battery was entirely flat, and I could not get the laptop turned on, this behaviour looks different.
I tried the following :
* turn on without battery, and connected to charger (again goes on, no an, goes off ater ~ 7/8 seconds).
* turn on without memory, no beeps
* removed battery + RAM , wait one hour, hold power button for 2 minutes, try boot, still same issue
* Put DOS bios flash on FAT 32 format usb, hold FN + Escape, boot laptop, hope screen turns on and fash bios.
No luck, still same error.
On the internet there are a lot of threads about similar issues, I also read about a damaged vga cable ?
But I normally shut down the laptop, and closed the lid, how could that damage the screen ?
Anybody has some tips ? Unfortunately laptop is 2 years old, so no warranty left 
Hi all, MS Cumulative updates have crashed my WIN10 PC, and it fails to boot, it just loops around the ACER logo. I have a new botable image on a USB stick ready to go, and I have set the BIOS up to boot from USB FDD and /or HDD, and in each case when I F12 to the BOOT MANAGER, the only boot option is "Windows Boot Manager". I hoped USB might be in the list to choose from. Has anyone any idea where I have gone wrong? Sadly I have a loopy PC !
Forums here suggest that I should be able to choose USB from the list, I have tried everything, but ... ??
Any help/ideas greatly appreciated 
My 3 day old laptop stays on a black screen, but fans start to run very loudly and keyboard lights up, after I put it out of sleep mode. Typing on the keyboard, moving my hand around the touchpad doesn't do anything. This goes on for 10 minutes before I decided to hold down the power button to reboot the computer
Hello i use a acer vn7-791g. Whenever i load 'camera' i get the message :to get started, connect a camera'. It is not listed either on device manager. I would download the driver, but it doesen't work, perhaps because i'm using windows 8.1 Also, unfortunately, no matter how many different times i try, Acer Recovery Management doesen't load up, i give administrative rights, then nothing. It's really starting to get my goat. all i want is to use my webcam. Basically i just want to download the webcam driver. i doubt the camera cable has fallen out. i am from england if anyone needs to know

Is there a way to obtain a version of the original version of the OS that came with the device?
I know that i can obtain a copy of the stock OS that came with the device via Windows or vendor but i would like a version of the OS that came with the laptop as i would like to use the additional programs that Acer installed.

I want to give my laptop away and decided to use the security section. I selected delete personal files anb said keep present opsys and run the wipe section also. I said go and it started. I came back about an hour later and it said 15% complete. About two hours later it said 21% complete. Hours and hours later it kept showing 21%.
I decided to stop it and the only way to do that was unplug battery and plug. I plugged it back in and now all it does is cycle from logo to no logo.
Please, help. I am dead.

when I open Setting->System->Application and Functionality, some applications show "Not Usable".
Although those showing "Not Usable" seem working fine, I am just wondering
"Does anyone have the same problem and how to solve it?"

V3-572PG says monitor not compatible when upgrading to windows 10 Anniversary, contact manufacturer. Got nowhere.

I now have the Windows 10 Anniversary Update but I believe I've been having this problem for a while anyway. While using the system I'm noticing pauses while trying various UI actions. I went to the Event Log to see if there were any smells and I'm seeing a lot of issues like these:

I reformatted the laptop a while ago and maybe I'm missing some drivers but not sure if that could be a cause for this.
why is the sound not working on my v3-575
I have been having this problem for a long time but only recently when i switched to tidal it started to annoy me.
The sound it makes is the same that when you plug your speakers in and they are turned on. This happens without speakers as well. It does not happen with itunes or when i stop songs in youtube. Only if song is playing in youtube and i exit the window. But as i said it happens everytime i pause a song in tidal, BRRREP for like half a second. Please help me!

Hello all. I have this V7 482 PG laptop, which was updated to Windows 10 from W 8.1 successfully and was working ok till HDD crashed last week. Acer warrantee worked beautifully and they promptly returned my laptop with new HDD. So far so good.
My issue is, the OS returned to original 8.1 after HDD renewal. Now when attempting to upgrade to W10, MS is asking for $299/- because free upgrade period has passed.
Whats the solution to this? Buy, or Acer covers this too?

It seems that the V and VN series has problems with overheating. I've had no other issues with my new acer save that when I run my lower end steam games my V5-591G-55PV starts getting really hot, much hotter than I think it should. I found it odd that the computer says it has dedicated graphics but also has intel hd graphics installed as well, is that normal? I've updated the bios to the latest version and my graphics card is also at the latest version for the GTX 950M. I got this for my 3d printing and scanning business and I'm worried about it in the long term with that kind of heat when I'm running my programs. Any suggestions? If all else fails I can return it to Amazon.

Hello, my Acer Aspire V5-531P-4623 worked perfectly but now it won't turn on. The charge LED turns on when I plug it in though, I have no idea what could be wrong. It won't turn on at all, when I press the POWER button I get nothing.

My new acer laptop is 2 months old and I frequently get the "No Bootable Device" error after booting from shut down. The SSD im using was given by the product seller as an additional offer to this purchase, the model is TS256GMTS800 (Transcend). Is this compatible to my Acer laptop or it is the reason to cause this problem? I've frequently getting this error since the 1st week of purchase but due to busy schedule of my work, I haven't tried to approach any Service Centre to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
